Staff Accountant

Overview

NOW CFO is assisting their client with finding a direct-hire full-time Staff Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. The Staff Accountant will support core accounting functions and help ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation who enjoys being hands-on and contributing to a growing finance team.

Local San Diego candidates will be considered

• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with the month-end close
• Maintain the general ledger and perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Support budget-to-actual analysis and investigate variances
• Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
• Process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements
• Support payroll processing and reconcile payroll-related accounts
• Assist with tax filings, 1099 reporting, and other compliance requirements
• Respond to requests from management and internal stakeholders

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Working knowledge of GAAP and basic financial reporting
• Experience using accounting systems and strong Excel skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication abilities
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment

• Experience with inventory and/or contract manufacturing
• Exposure to SaaS, technology, or data-driven organizations
• Familiarity with expense management tools such as Concur
