Accounting Manager Consultant; Revenue

Our San Diego based client is seeking a detail-oriented accounting consultant to support revenue accounting, financial close, and compliance activities for a long-term engagement. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, strong internal controls, and efficient accounting operations while contributing to process improvements across the finance organization.

• Perform revenue recognition activities in accordance with
  606 (required) and ASC 842 – Lessor accounting (preferred)
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
• Manage stock controls and support monthly accounting operations
• Assist with financial close activities and financial statement preparation
• Support SOX testing and ensure ongoing compliance with internal controls
• Participate in process workflow improvements, including testing and implementation of new or enhanced accounting processes
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA whether active or inactive is required
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with hands-on experience in ASC 606
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and close processes
• Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
• Experience with ASC 842 preferred
• Experience in a fast-paced and/or scaling organization preferred
