Senior Accounting Consultant

Overview

Our client, a growing biotech company, is seeking a hands-on Senior Accounting Consultant to support their accounting department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the life sciences industry, with strong knowledge of accrual accounting and clinical trial accounting. This individual will independently manage journal entry review processes, support audit readiness, and contribute to the implementation of Net Suite. This is a high-impact, on-site role within a collaborative finance team.

Duration: 4–6 months

Location: San Diego, CA – 4 days onsite per week

Compensation: $55 – $75/hour, W2

Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

• Contribute to month-end close processes including clinical and R&D accruals
• Review journal entries to support internal control enhancements and address material weaknesses
• Collaborate with accounting leadership on audit preparation and documentation
• Provide accounting support and data reconciliation during an ERP migration
• Own key accounting tasks while contributing to process improvements and overall financial system enhancements

• 5+ years of accounting experience within the life sciences industry required
• Strong background in accrual-based accounting; clinical trial accruals highly preferred
• Proven experience reviewing journal entries and supporting internal audits or SOX processes
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment
• ERP system experience required;
  Net Suite implementation exposure is a plus
