About the OpportunityVaco is partnering with a large software client seeking a Lead Project Accountant to join their expanding accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a project-driven, deadline-focused environment and wants to play a meaningful role in improving project financial processes.
Key Responsibilities- Support month-end close activities related to project financials, including reviewing project costs, recording accruals, calculating project labor costs, and performing reconciliations.
- Maintain project-level accounting records, including billing, job costing, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Assist with project billing for various contract types, such as Percentage of Completion (POC) and Time & Materials (T&M).
- Reconcile payroll costs to project time postings to ensure accurate labor allocations.
- Collaborate across departments to support project accounting processes and ensure timely, accurate financial information.
- Contribute to ad hoc accounting projects or additional duties as assigned.
- 10+ years of project accounting or finance experience supporting complex, multi-year programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Hands‑on project accounting experience.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with Oracle
- CPA License
