About the PositionAccounting Technicians perform the most difficult paraprofessional accounting tasks of collecting, reconciling, classifying, and summarizing fiscal data, interpreting financial data, and monitoring financial reporting procedures. They are also responsible for workload, efficiency, and quality of work, maintain financial reporting procedures, and ensure the proper application of accounting principles. Accounting Technicians may supervise, train, and direct clerical employees.
The current vacancy is with the Office of Emergency Services; however, the list established from this recruitment may also be used to fill future vacancies in other County departments.

and one (1) year experience as a Senior Account Clerk or Account Clerk Specialist in the County of San Diego, performing difficult clerical accounting work;
OR

and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience performing maintenance of entry accounts (such as collecting, classifying or summarizing fiscal transactions) and preparing periodic statements and reports.
