We are seeking an Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting, process transactions, manage accounts, prepare schedules, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. This position will be at our corporate location Centrum Office in San Diego, CA.
This is a full-time position with full benefits. Pay range: $31.25 - $33.65 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure accurate transaction entries in cash and accrual systems.
- Coordinate with accounts payable, banking, payroll, and Regional Portfolio Managers (RPM).
- Provide reports to owners and ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure timely payments, prepare amortization schedules, and handle taxes/insurance.
- Share projected expenses with regional managers.
- Reconcile cash receipts, review Accounting Month End (AME) reports, and compare ledgers to bank statements.
- Approve in-house expenses and ensure proper payments.
- Prepare cash flow projections and secure funding for troubled properties.
- Respond to calls/emails within 24 hours, providing response times.
- Support internal/external customers and collaborate with accounting team.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- You have a minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in property management with multi-family and affordable housing (highly preferred).
- You have professional proficiency in GAAP accounting standards.
- Organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
- You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with residents, vendors, and team members professionally.
- You are proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- You have experience with Yardi, Boston Post, Real Page, or other affordable platform (highly preferred).
