Job DescriptionThe Assurance Experienced Senior will coordinate day‑to‑day "in‑charge" duties of planning, fieldwork, and wrap‑up, including preparation of financial statements with disclosures, application of GAAP, and documentation of control systems. The role also serves as client contact for basic questions and may be involved in reviews and agreed‑upon procedure engagements.

Job Duties- Control Environment
- Apply knowledge of various factors affecting policy effectiveness, mitigating risks.
- As auditor in charge, ensure fieldwork is executed and completed as planned, in accordance with timetable, policies, and budget.
- Apply transactional flow knowledge to audit work.
- Document, validate, and assess the effectiveness of the internal control system.
- Communicate improvements to client internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Supervise audit staff, review work papers and conclusions, explain shortcomings.
- GAAP
- Apply governing principles and document application.
- Understand and communicate financial statement disclosure requirements.
- Identify and apply new pronouncements to client situations.
- Discuss alternative GAAP with manager and superiors.
- Identify complex accounting issues and raise them to superiors.
- SEC & PCAOB
- Apply SEC regulations and PCAOB guidelines, document and communicate application.
- Review clients’ SEC filings for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare communications to client and audit committee.
- Plan and execute Section 404 internal‑control audit.
- GAAS
- Apply professional standards. Document and communicate understanding.
- Formulate and communicate audit plan.
- Consult on complex issues. Apply audit skepticism.
- Use BDO audit manuals appropriately.
- Document deviations from policy with approval.
- Suggest improvements to internal controls, prepare draft communications.
- Methodology
- Apply BDO standards guiding quality delivery.
- Use BDO audit approach, tools, and technology.
- Propose outcomes for critical issues.
- Research
- Seek or maintain information from authoritative sources.
- Use internal and external research tools.
- Research complex areas, form independent opinions.
- Document findings in usable format.
- Assist engagement manager in gathering sufficient information.
- Project Management
- Coordinate timing of planning, fieldwork, review with team and client.
- Assist in developing engagement budget and resource allocation.
- Develop draft Audit Engagement Planning Memorandum.
- Track engagement budget and advise on overruns.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of 1–5 audit professionals.
- Give verbal and written performance feedback.
- Teach and coach associates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, required.
- Alternative bachelor’s degree with CPA certification, required.
- Master’s degree in Accountancy, preferred.
- Three (3) or more years of audit experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting.
- Prior basic supervisory experience preferred.
- Eligible to sit for CPA exams upon starting employment, required.
- CPA preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, preferred.
- Experience with assurance applications and research tools, preferred.

- Executive presence – primary client contact.
- Ability to manage all stages of audit.
- Capability to perform audits of complex companies.
- Ability to prepare and review financial statements with disclosures in accordance with GAAP.
