Job SummaryThe Driver must inspect and safely operate community vehicles/van(s), ensuring the safe loading/unloading and timely delivery of residents to outings and appointments in compliance with all traffic laws and the company’s policies.
EssentialJob Duties
- Schedule and safely transport residents to doctor appointments, outings, and other trips as directed.
- Assist with the safe loading and seating of residents onto and off of the vehicles, ensuring proper restraints.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspection and safety checks before first use and after final use of the day; schedule regular maintenance as needed.
- Maintain vehicle registration, insurance, and operational status; promptly report any safety or mechanical issues.
- Maintain communication with the property via cell phone or other means to update on resident location and status.
- Assist with scheduling outings, medical appointments, and community activities; perform other duties as assigned.
- Track trips, log maintenance checks, and perform day‑to‑day clerical work.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local vehicle and transportation regulations.
Job Duties
- Promote teamwork and open communication in line with MBK principles.
- Demonstrate a positive, professional image through dress and behavior; display tact and friendliness with residents, team members, guests, and the public.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or the Executive Director.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age 18 years or proper work permit.
- Fingerprint clearance, negative TB test, and required government clearances.
- Valid driver’s license class required for vehicle/van capacity and valid insurance.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Basic clerical skills.
- Genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older adults and their families.
- Professional, tactful interaction with residents, family members, guests, and the public.
- Mobility and ability to perform physical tasks required by the job.
- Assist residents during activities, including loading and unloading from vehicles.
$24.00 – $25.00 per hour.
