Position Summary and Purpose
The Accounting Clerk supports the Accounting department by performing a variety of clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting tasks. This role will be hands‑on in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions. The position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to follow established processes.

- Processes accounts payable, accounts payable, and other assigned accounting functions using Deacom accounting software and related systems.
- Ensures vendors are paid in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Supports credit card processing and posts journal entries to general ledger.
- Reconciles various accounts daily, monthly, annually, or as assigned.
- Prepare and assist with ACH banking transactions for vendors and customers.
- Allocates expenditures and payments to correct accounts in accordance with company policies.
- Process receivables to the correct customer account using Deacom accounting software.
- May assist in training clerical personnel and other employees in common accounting practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software, preferably Excel and Deacom.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, as well as talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must be able to regularly use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and climb stairs. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull office supplies up to 25 pounds.
Type / Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Standard days of work are Monday through Friday.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree, or pursuit of a degree, in business, accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field preferred.
