Position SummaryThe Associate Chemist is a hands-on role supporting routine chemical manufacturing operations under established standard operating procedures (SOPs). This position is well suited for individuals early in their professional careers or those transitioning into an industrial manufacturing environment who are seeking to build practical experience in regulated production settings. The Associate Chemist works under the guidance of senior chemists and contributes to the reliable execution of production activities, documentation, and equipment preparation.
Salary $75-95K DOE
Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing & Production Support
- Execute assigned chemical synthesis, purification, and isolation steps in accordance with approved SOPs and batch records.
- Support multi-kilogram scale production activities through accurate execution of defined procedures.
- Assist with preparation of reagents, starting materials, and production areas for scheduled manufacturing runs.
Documentation, Quality & Compliance
- Accurately record production data and observations in batch records and associated logs.
- Follow all quality system requirements, safety procedures, and cleanroom or controlled area practices.
- Escalate deviations, equipment issues, or safety concerns to senior staff or supervision.
- Clean, maintain, and stage glassware, tools, and production equipment for daily operations.
- Assist with setup and teardown of manufacturing equipment, including inert-atmosphere systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work environment.
