Summary

Delta Star Inc. is seeking a proactive Junior Safety & Environmental Coordinator to support workplace safety and environmental compliance in our transformer manufacturing facility. What You'll Do

As a Junior Safety & Environmental Coordinator, you’ll assist in implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, and maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations. You’ll help deliver training, manage documentation, and support initiatives that protect employees and the environment.

A Day in the Life

Your day will involve performing safety audits, investigating incidents, and maintaining accurate records. You’ll collaborate with production and maintenance teams, monitor hazardous materials handling, and participate in safety committee meetings. Whether you’re updating MSDS/SDS or preparing compliance reports, your work will help ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace.

Specific Duties
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections in production, assembly, and storage areas.
  • Assist in investigating workplace incidents, near misses, and environmental events; document findings and corrective actions.
  • Maintain OSHA logs, safety training records, environmental permits, and compliance documentation.
  • Help develop and deliver safety and environmental training tailored to transformer manufacturing processes.
  • Support hazardous waste management, chemical handling, and spill prevention initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations specific to transformer manufacturing.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and track follow-up actions.
  • Maintain and update MSDS/SDS and chemical inventory related to manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in preparing safety and environmental reports for management and regulatory agencies.
What We're Looking For

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative professional with a strong understanding of safety and environmental principles and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Previous internship or entry-level experience in industrial safety or environmental compliance, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with transformer or electrical equipment manufacturing is a plus.
  • Must live or be willing to relocate within a safe, reasonable commute to the assigned location.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer for U.S.

    -based positions.
Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing environments.

Understanding of safety hazards and environmental issues specific to transformer production.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Ability to conduct safety inspections and support incident investigations.

  • Timeliness and accuracy of safety audits and inspections.
  • Compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
  • Completion and accuracy of safety and environmental documentation.
  • Effectiveness of training programs and employee engagement.
Working Conditions

Regular presence on the production floor with exposure to noise, chemicals, and machinery. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE as required.
