Senior Business Data Science Manager, YouTube Marketing

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Computer Sciences or equivalent practical experience.
• 9 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or performing statistical analysis.
• 5 years of experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role.
• Experience in causal inference, A/B testing, statistical modeling, or machine learning.
• Experience in SQL and Python programming, leveraging ML or statistical libraries (e.g., Tensor Flow, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Keras, Pandas).

• Experience with causal inference or bayesian statistics.

You Tube Marketing Data Science, Infrastructure and Analytics (DSIA) is an analyst team that influences and informs You Tube’s marketing and products teams. We work on projects that are at the heart of the go‑to‑market and brand strategy for You Tube using data to ensure our marketing efforts are efficiently and effectively deployed. This role will lead to a team that drives full stack measurement and insights for You Tube shopping and creator marketing.

In this role, you will work closely with You Tube’s marketing and product teams to grow our creator community with life‑cycle communications that drive valuable creator actions (e.g., joining our shopping business generation programs, enabling channel memberships, adopting new features, etc.). You will develop an understanding of creator propensity and uplift from marketing such that interventions achieve outsized return on investment and drive meaningful creator interactions.

You will also shape our initial viewer marketing to drive You Tube shopping, working closely with marketing, product, and engineering. You will ensure experimentation plans and signal mapping can grow awareness and adoption of You Tube shopping for our viewers.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $248,000‑$349,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Lead a team of business data scientists and analysts in delivering project work including implementing data science solutions, improving data pipelines, developing evaluation metrics, or building statistical models that provide insights to the business.
• Embed with marketing leadership on You Tube shopping and You Tube creators to understand their high level goals and translate those into data science and investigative priorities.
• Design experiments and use causal inference to measure effectiveness of models, tools, and programs.
• Drive internal visibility and opportunities for the team, define team strategy in partnership with leadership and stakeholders, and remove technical and organizational blockers.
