We are responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

The Shorts Consumption team’s mission is to make You Tube the best place to watch short‑form video. Shorts is one of the priority products under development at You Tube.

In this role, within Shorts consumption, you will lead the Watch team. You will be responsible for creating a watch system to help bring useful and relevant journeys to viewers and ensuring a performant, reliable viewing experience.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in consumer product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch working with user experience (UX) and user experience researchers (UXR) to define user‑facing product requirements.
  • Experience driving experiments to grow metrics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a technology or business related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • 3 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 2 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • 2 years of experience working cross‑functionally with engineering, UX/UI, business, finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 1 year of experience in technical leadership.
Responsibilities
  • Define the strategy, goals, roadmap, and success metrics for performance and reliability.
  • Work collaboratively with partner teams to introduce valuable and relevant user journeys on Shorts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Research teams to bring product goals to life.
  • Utilize data‑driven decision making to measure performance, identify improvement areas, and iterate on the product experience.
  • Understand user needs translating insights into compelling product experiences.
