Coordinator-RN Peds. Works under the supervision of the Senior Nurse Manager and Clinic Supervisor. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the management of the Pediatric Allergy/Pulmonary, Nephrology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, and Cardiology, General Pediatrics and/or Pediatric and Adult Medicine patient population on an ongoing basis. Integrates RN nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) and management (planning, organizing, directing and controlling) to provide services and continuity of care for the patient.
Utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics to perform duties within the RN Scope of Practice. Has authority and accountability for coordinating pre-admission and post hospital care. Performs other duties as needed.
- Coordinate pre-admission and post-hospital care for assigned patient populations.
- Apply RN nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to patient care and continuity of services.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure effective care planning and delivery.
- Associate of Science Degree in Nursing required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
- Experience in clinical research preferred.
- Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality.
- Use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
- Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies.
- Work calmly and respond courteously under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.
- Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision.
- Perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
- Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation; identify and distinguish various sounds in the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents; discern temperature variances through touch.
- Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required.
- Valid driver's license required at time of hire.
