Production Lead – shifts and hours are identified below. Days off and available shifts vary based on site needs at the time.

• 1st shift:
  Start 6:30 AM – End 3:30 PM
• 2nd shift:
  Start 3:30 PM – End 12:30 AM

• A Production Lead guides a line or table of production associates during portioning, meal bagging/kitting, and shipping, and trains assigned production employees.
• Detailed responsibilities include: beginning shifts with a production plan from the supervisor, setting up portioning tables, meal bagging tables, and shipping lines; communicating targets and expectations; ensuring adherence to Home Chef policies; coordinating with the warehouse to prevent downtime; maintaining SOPs; managing waste to minimize overproduction; overseeing portioning and meal bagging/kitting; supporting shipping; and delivering counts and maintaining inventory per procedures.
• Ensures safety and food safety procedures are followed and enforces GMP and SQF requirements on the production floor.
• Supervises production associates, monitors pace and line integrity, resolves conflicts, and escalates issues as needed.

• Oversees all portioning and meal bagging/kitting for assigned table/pod, using production sheets, working with FSQA to verify ingredients, and ensuring hourly checks of packaging and labeling.
• Manages output tracking, inventory labeling, and FIFO storage practices; ensures labels and packaging are correct and that storage areas are organized and compliant with SOPs.

Assists the Production Supervisor on shipping lines with knowledge of all shipping lines and related SOPs. Coordinates with warehouse to prevent downtime due to product shortages and ensures line readiness.

• Enforces GMP and food safety policies, provides safety training when needed, and conducts safety roll calls for evacuations.
• Maintains 5S and sanitation, ensures coolers are cleaned, and supports SQF and GMP practices.
• Follows facility GMPs, maintains safe working conditions, and supports the company’s food safety programs.
• Be available with 0% travel requirement.

• General high school degree or equivalent (GED).
• Strong attendance and performance as a Home Chef production associate is required for this position.

Home Chef offers a base salary range with exact offers based on location, experience, and internal factors. California pay range: $22.75 — $22.75 USD. In addition to base salary, Home Chef provides a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare coverage, 401k match, and paid time off.
