Home Chef is a leading meal solutions company with online and retail presence. Tempo is the rotating selection of ready-to-heat meals delivered to customers. The Tempo menu includes protein-packed, fiber-rich, calorie- and carb-conscious, keto-friendly, and dietitian-approved options.

Shift details: 1st shift 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM; 2nd shift 3:30 PM – 12:30 AM. A Production Lead guides a line of production associates during portioning, meal bagging/kitting, and shipping, and trains assigned production employees.

• Begin shift before production and obtain daily production plan and targets from the supervisor. Set up portioning, meal bagging, and shipping areas accordingly.
• Coordinate with the supervisor to obtain daily production plans and targets. Communicate targets and performance to production associates and monitor performance against the targets.
• Ensure associates follow Home Chef policies and escalate concerns to the Production Supervisor.
• Prioritize and plan for product shortages, communicate needs to warehouse runners to avoid downtime, and conduct checks on ingredients for quality, accuracy, and shelf life.
• Maintain working knowledge of all SOPs for portioning, meal bagging/kitting, and shipping. Set up lines per SOPs and ensure resources are available at shift start.
• Share recommendations for SOP improvements with the supervisor. Ensure labels, packaging, and products are ready at shift start and for new activity.
• Manage waste by avoiding overproduction and monitoring for excessive waste; escalate quality concerns as needed.
• Oversee all portioning and meal bagging/kitting for assigned tables/pods, verify ingredients with FSQA, and ensure hourly checks to minimize errors.
• Oversee packaging, labels, and line readiness; communicate shortages to supervisor. Conduct hourly quality checks on portions and bags.
• Assist the Shipping line when needed and maintain knowledge of similar, hybrid, unique, and pick-and-pack shipping.
• Ensure SOPs for box packing, shipping, and pick & pack are followed; manage shipping line pace and adjust as needed.
• Deliver counts to the supervisor and follow inventory procedures, including hourly/daily counts and FIFO. Ensure proper labeling of crates and towers and correct storage ordering by date.
• Enforce and uphold food safety and GMP practices on the production floor; conduct GMP checks and correct violations; reinforce safety and sanitation protocols.
• Supervise production associates, maintain production pace, ensure line integrity, resolve conflicts, and escalate issues as needed.
• Follow facility GMPs, maintain safe working conditions, and support SQF and quality programs.
• Travel: 0% travel.

• General high school degree or equivalent (e.g., GED).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 10–12 hours.
• Strong attendance and performance record for Home Chef employees.
