JOB SUMMARY:

The Security/Loss Prevention Analyst plays a crucial role in safeguarding the company’s assets by utilizing advanced loss prevention systems and technologies. This position involves investigating, forecasting, and presenting data and information related to potential losses, criminal activities, workplace violence, and incidents that could negatively impact the company. Reporting directly to the Manager of Retail Loss Prevention under the Director of Loss Prevention, the Analyst will be responsible for monitoring data, assisting with investigations, and collaborating with law enforcement when necessary.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor, analyze, and generate reports using data mining programs and exception-based reporting software such as Agilence to identify potential losses, employee misconduct, and operational issues
• Monitor and prioritize incoming incidents through case management software
• Utilize, review, and extract network video files from the Axis Camera system
• Conduct comprehensive investigations into theft, fraud, embezzlement, employee misconduct, and other criminal activities
• Assist law enforcement agencies by providing photo, video, and transaction history evidence
• Develop cases involving Organized Retail Crime (ORC) and repeat offenders, partnering with law enforcement on active investigations
• Provide testimony and evidence in criminal and civil proceedings on behalf of the company
• Prepare thorough and concise investigative reports
• Engage in daily problem-solving and decision-making
• Routinely handle highly confidential material with discretion and professionalism
• Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required;
  College degree and/or relevant certificate preferred
• Knowledge of criminal laws, with a particular emphasis on theft, embezzlement, and fraud
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey and explain information effectively to individuals at all levels of the organization
• Ability to draft clear, concise, and logical reports, correspondence, and summaries
• Excellent analytical skills demonstrated by experience in identifying, analyzing, and investigating potential problems and developing actionable plans
• Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including graveyard, swing, and day shifts, as well as weekends
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals both inside and outside the company
• High degree of confidentiality, integrity, accuracy, and problem-solving ability required
• Ability to represent the company in a professional manner
• Bookkeeping experience a plus but not required
