The X‑Ray Limited Scope & Medical Support Specialist performs routine X‑ray, medical, and testing procedures under the direct supervision of the treating clinician. The role also supports registration and referral management, performs routine X‑ray examinations, and ensures quality care and excellent patient experience.

Responsibilities X‑Ray Technician Duties
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escort them to dressing and X‑ray rooms, provide instructions, and assist with positioning.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images; adjust exposure time and distance per examination specifications.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to safeguard patients and team members.
  • Ensure equipment remains operational and report malfunctions to the Center Operations Director.
  • Follow radiology workflows; complete required documentation and ensure correct transfer into EMR.
  • Maintain X‑ray equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record‑keeping per policy.
Medical Support Specialist Duties
  • Perform DOT and non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, vital signs, vaccines, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing, and respirator fit testing.
  • Conduct rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Perform routine medical procedures ordered by the treating clinician; triage emergent patients as needed.
  • Assist with procedure setup, injury care, bandage, dressing, and splint application.
  • Dispense medications and DME in accordance with state regulations.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and testing processes.
  • Maintain supplies, clean rooms, and stock exam rooms.
  • Notify supervisor of equipment or supply issues.
  • Assist with patient flow, volume, and communication of wait times.
  • Perform clerical tasks in front and back office, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Handle front office duties: greet patients, obtain authorization, check in/out, manage telephone system, distribute results.
  • Follow HIPAA and safety guidelines.
  • Attend staff meetings or huddles as required.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, orderly facility.
  • Complete ongoing training, including monthly clinical competency training.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of a state‑approved Limited Scope Technician certificate program and state license, if applicable.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
Job‑Related Experience
  • At least six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
  • At least six months of demonstrated experience in X‑ray and routine medical procedures.
  • Knowledge of occupational medicine requirements preferred with prior medical office, healthcare, or customer service experience.
