Estimator, Engineering, Mechanical Engineer

Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems to join a well‑established, employee‑owned company offering long‑term stability and an ESOP program. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing competitive estimates and managing accounts from job walk through closeout. While multifamily project experience is preferred, candidates with commercial experience will also be considered. Sales experience and prior client account management are highly desirable.

• Review mechanical plans and project documentation to generate accurate labor and material takeoffs
• Prepare bids, pricing, and proposals for HVAC and mechanical scopes
• Coordinate with internal departments and subcontractors to gather project‑related data
• Track estimate details, contract extras, and change orders using Excel and estimating software
• Communicate regularly with clients, GCs, and field teams to ensure scope clarity and pricing alignment
• Maintain organized records of all estimating activities
• Support business development efforts by maintaining relationships with clients and industry partners
• Manage awarded accounts as needed and stay involved through project handoff

• 5+ years of experience in HVAC or mechanical estimating (required)
• Prior experience in HVAC service or mechanical sales (preferred)
• Proven ability to manage client accounts and maintain repeat business
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting tools
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and construction specifications
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
