The Dental Assistant, CF supports the Clinical Dentist and Dental Assistant under the supervision of the Supervising Dentist, CF. The role performs supportive dental procedures, maintains hygiene, ensures patient safety, and manages the conduct of incarcerated patients in accordance with the Dental Board of California and CDCR Dental Program policies.

• Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of dental procedures under the direction of the Dentist, CF.
• Coordinate and supervise the work of the incarcerated and maintain order in the dental facility.
• Maintain patient records, sterilization protocols, and safety procedures.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene, diet, and the use of dental equipment.
• Collaborate with the Dental Program team to support rehabilitation and reentry programs.

• One year of experience as a Dental Assistant, or equivalent training (training school may substitute for required experience).
• Valid California state Dental Assistant license or completion of an approved training program.
• Knowledge of dental procedures, infection control, and patient safety.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a correctional environment and maintain professional boundaries.

• Corrective facility environment, including working with incarcerated individuals.
• Shift work, including limited hours (part‑time).
• Compliance with CDCR and CCHCS policies and the California Model correctional reforms.
