Position TitleCharter Bus Driver
Position SummaryThe Charter Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating a gas or diesel bus on routes for the University, observing all state and city speed and safety regulations. The position is also responsible for providing excellent customer service to passengers and following safety policies of the University. The Charter Bus Driver reports to the Vehicle Services Manager.
Position requires the ability to successfully pass a required DOT physical.

- Operate gas or diesel bus for assigned routes.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers.
- Observe and comply with all state and city speed limits and safety regulations.
- Observe and comply with safety policies of the University.
- Regularly serve as relief for UIW shuttle drivers during their lunch breaks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must possess strong customer service skills.
- Ability to drive for the authorized period of time as outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation.
- Must be knowledgeable with the Hours of Service (Log Book) requirements.
- Ability to successfully pass required DOT physical.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Work ExperienceOne (1) year of charter bus driving experience.
Preferred QualificationsThree (3) to five (5) years of charter bus driving experience.
Required Certifications, Licenses Or RegistrationsMust have a valid CDL Class B License with P Endorsement, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.
Work HoursMon through Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional extended hours based on needs of the department and assigned trips.
Physical DemandsMust have physical strength adequate to maneuver the bus and assist passengers.
