Overview
Position: Fixed Wing Pilot
Location: San Antonio, TX
Airframe: King Air 200
Schedule: 7 Days On and 7 Days Off
Annual Salary Range: $111,589 - $122,748
Contract: 12-18 Month Training Contract Required Depending on Certifications.
- Annual scaled salary increases based on merit to a maximum of $156,224.
- 15,000 Sign-On Bonus (Must Complete Training and Check Ride).
- 40,000 Retention Bonus (There is a 6 Month Waiting period and This is a 3 Year Program).
- Up to 5,000 in Relocation Assistance.
The Pilot in Command (PIC) is designated as the PIC or a flight or series of flights in accordance with FAR Part 135. The PIC is responsible for the safe conduct of flights to which they are assigned and is the final authority in the operation of the aircraft. The PIC exercises Operational Control on the Tier 2 level as described in the General Operations Manual.
The PIC must meet minimum qualifications as specified by Federal Aviation Regulation Part 135.243(b).
Pilot schedules: rotating 7 days on followed by 7 days off duty. While on duty, pilots serve a 12-hour shift (maximum 14 hours if operating under Part 135) at the Base hangar to meet a 30-minute launch after initial notification of a trip. Shifts are scheduled the month prior by the Base Lead Pilot and may include day or night duties.
Changes within a 7-day shift are discouraged but can occur depending on local needs at the Base.
Required Qualifications
- Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, San Antonio, Texas
- Must hold, or be able to attain, BE-200PL21 and C-90 PIC Qualification
- The ideal candidate will have single pilot IFR experience
- Previous medevac and/or cargo experience preferred
- Valid and unexpired driver's license
- Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate
- Hold, or be eligible to hold, an unrestricted FAA ATP certificate
- 2,500 Airplane Total Time Hours
- 500 Airplane Multi-Engine Land Hours
- 1,000 PIC Airplane Hours
- 100 Hours in Type
- 75 instrument (50 actual) hours
- Must hold valid US Passport
- Complies with the duties and responsibilities contained within Air Med International general operations manual
- Ensures the aircraft is ready for mission in coordination with Air Med's global operations center
- Complies with all applicable FARs and Op Specs
- Disseminates all pertinent information about flight operations through the operational control structure
- Maintains professional conduct and environmental awareness at all times
- Attends meetings and may attend training and check-flights outside of normal duty shift rotations
- Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Operations or Chief Pilot
- Bachelor's degree in aviation preferred. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in another field, or a high school diploma/GED, will also be considered
- Required to work in outside weather conditions
- Must be able to work night, day, and overnight shifts as assigned
- May de-ice the plane, assist with towing the aircraft and maneuvering in and out of the hangar, prep the plane for flight
- Travel required for training events or maintenance assignment
