Route Service Technician at Stallion Infrastructure Services

The Route Service Technician is primarily responsible for operating a company truck and driving to various customer locations to deliver, pick up, maintain, service, or repair portable restrooms, hand sinks, holding tanks, or any assigned asset. The route may involve daily routes, pick‑up and delivery schedules, yard/shop assistance, or special events. This position exposes you to extreme weather, unpleasant odors, and sights.

Hours and physical demands vary by task. Stallion is a team environment and you may be asked to assist in different departments as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Operates truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Maintains a clean truck inside and out.
  • Performs daily pre and post trip inspections as set forth by Stallion Rents procedures and D.O.T. guidelines. Major concerns should be brought to the Branch Operations Manager without delay.
  • Must follow all Stallion Rents’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and General Standards.
  • Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to the dispatch office who will determine course of action.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by Branch Operations Manager, including but not limited to delivery and pick up of rental equipment, restocking trucks, organizing shop, organizing yard, helping in a different department or responding to emergency calls in a timely manner.
  • Provides service for customers’ portable restroom(s) or related asset(s) by following consistently Stallion Rents Service Steps each time a service is performed.
  • Must keep work areas in yard clean and organized and notify Branch Manager if a hazard is recognized.
  • Responsible for communicating with Branch Operations Manager on items that can hinder a job (e.g., low inventory, keys, chemicals, supplies).
  • Responsible for communicating with office staff regarding items that can hinder a job.
  • Submits all route information and paperwork to the office at the end of each shift.
  • Utilizes dispatching software for routing, documenting photos, and logging customer concerns.
  • Professional interaction with employees and customers is always required.
  • Provides an exceptional level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service in all aspects of operation to the general public and customers. All contact is documented using the routing software tablet provided in real time during the route day.
  • Answers questions for customers and directs them to contact office for additional information.
  • Provides routing feedback to office and Dispatcher to improve efficiency and customer service.
  • Uniforms are expected to be worn at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to read, operate, and understand an electronic map/GPS/dispatching system utilizing a phone or iPad.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing).
  • General knowledge of the mechanics of trucks.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with WSI staff and customers.
  • Ability to pull a trailer (preferred).
  • Waste industry experience (preferred).
Work Environment
  • Works in a variety of environmental conditions, including wide temperature and weather variations, heat, cold, snow, rain, wind, noise, vibrations, fumes, odors, and dust.
  • Exposure to human waste is possible.
  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions while outside of the vehicle.
  • This position is outdoors and/or driving a GPS‑monitored vehicle.
  • Physically able to push or pull independently (unassisted) 50 pounds between 25 and 50 times a day.
  • Physically able to lift independently (unassisted) 50 pounds from the ground to waist height between 25 and 50 times a day.
  • Physically able to get up and down from the cab of a commercial motor vehicle between 30 and 50 times a day.
  • Physically able to lift with assistance (helper) 100 pounds between 20 and 30 times a day.
