We are looking for a Core Java Developer in Chicago, IL.

• Develop and maintain applications using Apache Spark and Java
• Work with different aspects of the Spark ecosystem including Datasets, Spark SQL and scalability support
• Collaborate with business analysts and lead engineers to understand requirements and designs for implementing software solutions
• Engage in performance improvement activities to support Spark applications processing large data sets daily
• Production support and Troubleshooting activities to uncover issues in Spark applications
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies
• Support and foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience
• Experience in the Data Engineering domain
• Hands-on experience in system design (simple), application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficiency in Java (and one or more languages)
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a corporate environment with Java, Spark Framework and SQL (any SQL experience)
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience working in an Agile Software Development Environment

• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes and Kafka

Pay Range: $53/Hr. Pay range offered based on factors including education, work experience, location, job duties, and certifications.
