Objectives of this Role- Highly motivated, curious, detail‑oriented, and a passionate critical thinker eager to contribute to a dynamic team of Software Architects and Engineers.
- Lead and support a team throughout all aspects of the Software Life Cycle using Agile Methodologies, including requirements interpretation, design, trade studies, development, testing, task tracking, status reporting, and deployment.
- Design and develop technical solutions and frameworks for thin client and server‑side development, object‑oriented programming, embedded programming, and database patterns and implementation.
- Assist technical leads with work breakdowns, task estimation, and junior staff support.
- Plan and track tasks for small teams.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, on technical solutions, task updates, and documentation, including client interactions.
- Contribute to the design and development of an advanced software architecture using object‑oriented and embedded programming fundamentals, distributed computing, thin client approaches, and data distribution systems.
- Lead all phases of the project lifecycle: requirements development, innovative solutions design, testing, integration, installation, and documentation.
- Collaborate with team members and customers to understand environmental constraints and requirements.
- Assist with task breakdowns and estimations for larger initiatives.
- Work primarily at SwRI facilities with short‑term travel to U.S. and overseas government client sites for meetings, system installations, and support.
- Communicate task status confidently to team leads, project leadership, and mentor junior staff.
- Operate independently on tasks while collaborating effectively within the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields such as Computational Engineering.
- Current/active TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
- 4+ years of critical thinking, proactiveness, and experience with programming languages including JavaScript, Java, C#, C++, HTML5, and Python; experience in Agile methodologies.
- Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into application designs, implementations, unit and integration testing; knowledge of software/hardware integration and documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools, software repositories, engineering practices, distributed computing, and computer science principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, detail‑oriented, proactive, fast learner, self‑directed, and collaborative in a team environment.
- Valid and clear driver’s license.
