WhoYou Are
As a Senior Computer Operator with Frost,
you are our technological whiz. In this role you will monitor and control one or more mini or mainframe computers by operating the central console or online terminals. You will use your focus and attention to study program operation sheets to determine equipment set up and run operations. You are eager to accept the challenge to find resolutions to problems. Most importantly, this role is about providing top‑quality service and keeping integrity, caring and excellence top of mind.
You’ll Do
- Observe the operation of the console panel, storage devices, printers, and the action of the console dashboards, detailed logs and vendor tickets to monitor the system and determine the point of equipment or program failure
- Open and track service work orders and all system job processes, support the utilities involving ATMs, and coordinate with vendors
- Monitor, maintain, and interact with multiple network platforms such as mainframe and Citrix environment
- Set‑up monitors and control computer operations and peripheral equipment
- Manipulate controls in accordance with standard procedures to rearrange sequence of job steps to continue operations when individual units of the system malfunction
- Research error messages
- Maintain operating records such as machine performance and production reports
- Provide after‑hours support for end users by resolving minor issues and escalating unresolved issues to on‑call personnel
- Confer with software systems engineering or applications programming personnel when errors require a change of instructions or sequence of operations
- Always take action with Integrity, Caring and Excellence to achieve all‑win outcomes
- Experience in midrange and as a mainframe computer operator
- Experience in Z/os mainframe skills with batch processing
- Knowledge of Jes2 operator commands, scheduling packages, and ATM support
- Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work coverage on holidays when needed
- Ability to rotate work shifts when needed
- Knowledge of Job Control Language (JCL), ASG Zeke Job Scheduler, and ZOS commands
