TS​/SCI Software Engineer

Overview

An employer is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer who develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Responsibilities include advising and assisting with software tools and applications, maintaining and enhancing system administration functions for the electronic archive platform Metis, reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements, resolving software problem reports, designing and coding new software or modifying existing software to add features, developing simple data queries for databases or data repositories, and developing and enhancing robust web-based interfaces for customers to interrogate and visualize the archive.

The role also involves designing or implementing complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.

• Advise and assist with software tools and applications.
• Maintain, sustain, and enhance system administration functions used to manage the electronic archive platform Metis.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Resolve software problem reports and design or modify software to add new features.
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
• Develop and enhance robust web-based interfaces for customers to interrogate and visualize the archive.
• Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.

• Active TS/SCI Level Clearance.
• Must have a minimum 5 years of Mark Logic & XQuery XML development experience, including setting up development, test, and deployment environments (Technologies & Languages include: XML, XQuery, No
  
  SQL, Mongo
  
  DB, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), Cassandra
  
  DB, Appache HBase, Couch
  
  DB, Redis & Google Cloud Big Table).
• Must understand and have experience in an Agile environment.
• Experience maintaining and enhancing the ability to publish reports in the defined Extensible Markup Language (XML) schema and metadata standards; experience with individual software components including Open Text Livelink, Net Owl entity extraction, Mark Logic XML server, enterprise-class web servers, Apache webserver, Tomcat webserver, XQuery, XPath, XSLT.
• HTML, CSS, Java web services, Java application servers, Java Web Start;
  Java experience is a plus.
• Troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, designing, delivering, and demonstrating applications written in XQuery.
