Our programs provide services to include early childhood education, mental health and well-being counseling services, outpatient substance abuse treatment, parent education and engagement, family strengthening, therapeutic visitation and neutral exchange for children and families; financial empowerment, workforce development and readiness, and senior in-home assistance.

Job Description

The Economic Mobility Mentor II works with participants to identify individual strengths and areas for goal-setting to move households towards economic self-sufficiency. Through the use of the economic mobility coaching model (Mobility Mentoring), goals will be established to service members and their families. The Economic Mobility Mentor II will work with participants to remain adequately housed and supporting participants in maintaining permanent housing and making progress towards goals related to economic self-sufficiency, while ensuring that services provided are in alignment with the Social Determinants of Health through a trauma informed care lens as defined by the agency.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related behavioral science area of study plus two (2) years of related work experience, with some background in finance, financial education, counseling/coaching / goal setting or social service delivery; working with a diverse population, including homeless and formerly homeless families.
  • Understands cultural differences and is sensitive to the implications of culture for service delivery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic community resources to include familiarity with a variety of housing subsidy programs, Landlord/Tenant rights and of making referrals and providing followup consultation.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to enter data into electronic databases. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Access to reliable transportation required. State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance. (required)
  • Staff will be required to submit proof of their vaccination status or may request to be exempt from vaccination due to a religious and/or medical accommodation.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) desirable.
