Maintenance Mechanic Lead

Under minimal supervision, responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled mechanic duties in the repair and maintenance of equipment. Collaborates with project managers and provides information in modernizing and upgrading new and existing facilities. Leads or mentors lower level team members.

• Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies mechanical equipment and facilities.
• Repairs, alters, and maintains a variety of shop tools and equipment.
• Ensures machinery, mechanical equipment and facility systems are in working order.
• Conducts periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repairs.
• Conducts quality control inspections when necessary.
• Provides guidance and leadership to personnel to include training, monitoring/evaluating performance, and communicating corrective action(s) in the area of expertise as required.
• Works with contractors to coordinate, schedule and provide oversight for completion of repairs, replacements, and upgrades to equipment.
• Oversees daily maintenance operations to include assigning duties, approving timesheets and coordinating leave requests.
• Witnesses and reports inspections per law; maintains stockroom inventory; remains current on continuing education/licensing requirements and state laws and regulations that impact inspections and contractor licensing.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Advanced knowledge of mechanical and facilities trouble shooting, repair, and maintenance.
• Proven skills in the repair of industrial production equipment.
• Demonstrated planning, organization, customer focus and teamwork skills.
• Ability to demonstrate a positive demeanor and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.
• Builds and maintains positive working relationships, within individual work groups and across departments, through open communication and collaboration; works with others to accomplish goals and objectives.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED is required.

LICENSES:

• Must have valid Texas driver's license - clear driving record is required.

• Seven (7) years experience as a mechanic in Mechanical or Electrical field is required.
