Summary
Under the general supervision of the fire controls foreman, the Electronic Tech (Fire Alarm/Intrusion Detection Technician) is responsible for proper installation, programming, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler supervision systems, and intrusion detection systems.

Description / General FunctionClassified job announced to in house applicants only. This position will remain open until filled. 8 hours per day/255 days per year/Salary Grade 12 $ 26.30 per hour Support Salary Table) Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase.
Under the general supervision of the fire controls foreman the Electronic Tech (Fire Alarm/Intrusion Detection Technician) is responsible for the installation, testing, programming and repair of the following systems: fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler supervision systems and intrusion detection systems.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of commercial security and fire systems.
- Ability and experience installing and programming intrusion detection and fire alarm systems.
- Experience with DSC security systems.
- Experience with Silent Knight and/or Potter fire alarm systems.
- Experience with FCI, Gamewell and Simplex fire alarm systems.
- Experience programming commercial intrusion detection and fire alarm systems.
- Experience as a service technician in the security and fire systems field.
- Industry related certifications and training.
- Driver's license.
Four years experience related to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
