Primary
Purpose:
Undergeneralsupervision,assistinmaintainingandprovidingforthesafeconditionandoperationofallplumbingsystemsindistrictfacilities.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record
- Must have a satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by candidate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to pass alcohol and drug test
Experience:
- One-three years in plumbing field
- Demonstrates thoroughness, reliability and a high degree of accuracy in performing work assignments.
- Works cooperatively with others and maintains a positive attitude in the work environment.
- Demonstrates initiative and good judgment in problem solving and decision-making.
- Reports promptly and maintains good attendance.
- Uses time productively on the job.
- Follows district policies, rules and regulations

- Demonstrates tact, courtesy and helpfulness in dealing with staff, students, parents, and visitors in the district.
- Install and do minor repair on faucets, fixtures, and drains.
- Receivesandcompleteworkordersasissuedundersupervisionofajourneyman plumber.
- Retrievepartsandtoolsasneeded.
- Assists licensed maintenance worker in all facets of commercial plumbing repair and remodeling.
- Assist in the repair or installation of irrigation systems.
- Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise general maintenance worker when assigned.
Equipment Used:

Pipe bender;
Propane torch;
Soldering equipment;
Sewer rooter.
Lighttruckorvan.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent district wide travel.
