• Follow all health, safety, and environmental requirements; perform cleanup duties; perform material handling and storage duties.
• Identify, use, and care for common hand and power tools; use and care of craft-specific tools and equipment.
• Knowledge and application of craft-related mathematics; knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging.
• Inspect rigging equipment and hardware; knowledge and application of common hitches, emergency stop signal, basic crane hand signals, knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft-specific tasks.
• Install and/or use inclined plane devices (e.g., ramp, wedge, and chokers).
• Lubricate, service, and maintain bearings; demonstrate proper use and care of power transmission devices.
• Perform basic service and preventive maintenance on internal combustion engines; perform cleanup and disassembly/reassembly of heavy equipment; perform service and maintenance on hydraulic systems, cooling systems, brake systems, electrical devices and systems on heavy equipment; service and maintenance on all cable and hydraulic lifting devices.
• Analyze malfunctions and repair, rebuild, and maintain construction equipment such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, dozers, motor graders, paving machines, trench digging machines, conveyors, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools.
• Operate and inspect machines and equipment to diagnose defects; dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools; examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges; replace defective parts, engines, and subassemblies (e.g., transmissions).
• Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency; weld broken parts and structural members.
• May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment; may repair, adjust, and maintain various machinery, including graders, loaders, shovels, hoes, paving/curbing machines, truck tractors, dump trucks, trailers, and related equipment added to the construction site.
• All other duties as assigned.

  See hazards, safety warnings, and barriers; bend knees for lifting and routine work tasks; stoop for work positioning and lifting; lift up to 50 lbs without assistance; comprehend and respond to audible/visual instructions, alarms and warnings; climb/balance on ladders, scaffolding, and structures; kneel for work positioning; reach above shoulders and away from body; demonstrate manual dexterity to perform tasks.
• Working Conditions
  :
  Work in extreme heat or cold; work where noise level is above 85 decibels; work in wet/humid environments; work in cramped quarters; work in environments with fluctuating ventilation; work inside and outside.
