Martin Marietta Materials is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Industrial Electrician. This position will be based in the San Antonio area, supporting all aggregate rock mining plants. The primary role involves maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, consulting, researching, and developing process control instrumentation to optimize production efficiency. This position services various plants within the greater San Antonio, Hondo/Uvalde, New Braunfels, and Austin, TX areas.
Local travel is required.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including plant controls for rail operations
- Troubleshoot AC / DC motor controls and drives
- Research potential upgrades and optimize existing operations for safety, efficiency, plant capacity, and reporting
- Collaborate with engineering and outside vendors to complete projects on time
- Support safety culture and comply with all safety rules and regulations
- Lead by example in safety procedures and MSHA compliance, ensuring team adherence
- Encourage participation in Guardian Angel activities
Education and Experience
- 5 years’ experience in aggregates or similar industry
- Experience with conveyor belt scales, operation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Texas license as maintenance or journeyman electrician is a plus
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong vendor relations skills
- Willingness to be on call
- Working knowledge of high voltage electrical systems
- Skilled in using hand tools, test instruments, and electrical construction tools
- Experience with PLCs is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
- Climb stairs and ladders, reach, squat, stand/walk for prolonged periods, balance, bend, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push, and pull
- Perform sustained overhead reaching and use vibration tools
- Work in confined spaces and in high noise environments
- Primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
All duties involve outdoor work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wet, or dry environments. Noise levels can reach up to 85 dB. Must be able to work in high-noise, dusty, and potentially cramped areas.
