Pay Rate: $45 - $50 (with A&P)

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Structures Mechanic to support a premier aerospace partner. In this role, your craftsmanship and technical expertise will directly contribute to the safety, reliability, and performance of complex aircraft platforms. From heavy structural modifications to precision repairs, your work will help keep critical aerospace missions flying.

What You’ll Do

As a Structures Mechanic, you will maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and components of moderate to high complexity. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Performing close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation on critical and fracture-critical structures such as doublers, triplers, seat tracks, stringers, planks, and webs

  • Locating blind holes for installation of new structural items on existing aircraft structures

  • Conducting sealing, painting, shimming, and preservation in accordance with standard repair processes

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, technical orders, process specifications, and manufacturer manuals

  • Using specialized tooling and fixtures for depot-level heavy structures modification and repair

  • Troubleshooting and repairing aircraft structural and mechanical components, with working knowledge of non-complex electrical systems

  • Accessing aircraft data via computer systems and initiating online parts and discrepancy requests

  • Making required entries in aircraft logs and maintenance records

  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to lower-level technicians

  • Operating equipment such as forklifts, mobile cranes, and electric-powered elevating platforms

  • Maintaining certifications, licenses, and training required for assigned work

  • Supporting flexible schedules, including alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as mission demands

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of on-aircraft heavy structures experience (aircraft platforms and years of experience must be clearly listed on resume)

  • 4+ years of experience with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel

  • 4+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and SOPs

  • Proven expertise using structures hand tools including drills (45° and 90°), countersink cages, rivet guns, pancake adapters, and hole finders

  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft repair procedures, sheet metal and structural modifications, and replacement of parts

  • Proficiency with aircraft-unique tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, cable tensiometers, brakes, and shears

  • Strong computer skills for aircraft systems and basic office software

  • Ability to prioritize workload and maintain project schedules

  • Ability to obtain customer approval for aircraft access

  • Regular and predictable attendance

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with VIP or specialty aircraft interiors within the last 10 years

  • Depot-level or heavy structures maintenance experience

  • Experience supporting Executive Fleet platforms

  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 35 lbs (team lift over 50 lbs)

  • Frequent standing, walking, overhead reaching, balancing, and exposure to elevated platforms

  • Occasional crawling, squatting, bending, and extended use of foot controls

  • Exposure to noise and contact with metals

  • Use of required personal protective equipment

  • Ability to pass visual acuity and color perception tests

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English

  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials properly
