The Utilities Division is seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Operator, with a CDL, to support our team in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring that all Utilities URD Streetlight projects are completed efficiently, on time, safely, and within budget, while working alongside a skilled team and adhering to quality and regulatory standards.

JOB SUMMARY:The Utilities Division is looking for an experienced Equipment Operator, with a CDL, that will support the Utilities URD Streetlight team with operating equipment such as:
- Backhoes, loaders, skid steers, excavators, etc. across multiple construction sites.
- Operate various types of heavy equipment such as: pilot backhoes, loaders, skid steers, excavators, etc. across construction sites.
- Excavate around energized and live utilities. swimmers
- Dig pits, trenches, and holes to prepare sites for construction.
- Operate equipment to move and carry materials and supplies and clear work site.
- Assist ground and field crews with installation of materials as needed.
- Identify potential hazards or obstructions with existing utilities, both overhead and underground.
- Use both non-verbal and verbal signals while operating equipment to communicate with your supervisor and other crew members as needed.
- Perform other duties as instructed by the supervisor.
- Perform daily inspections on equipment for issues, complete inspection paperwork, and notify leads on any issues.
- Follow all safety policies and guidelines set by HJD Capital Electric. ван
- 2+ years of excavation experience using heavy machinery.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Basic knowledge operating hand and power tools.
- Able to maneuver heavy machinery in confined spaces.
- Physical capability to perform assigned labor related tasks.
- Experience working on construction sites demonstrating safety awareness and knowledge of required PPE.
- Experience working outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold).
- Physical capability to carry up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor.
- Strong attention to detail and initiative to perform additional tasks when needed.
- Must have a safety-first mindset to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Required:
Valid CDL holder.
