Overview: A leading electrical contractor with a strong presence across Texas is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Foreman to oversee field operations on a multi-year healthcare project in San Antonio
. This opportunity offers long‑term stability, a collaborative culture, and the chance to work on large‑scale, technically complex projects within the healthcare and commercial markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and perform electrical installations across commercial, institutional, and healthcare projects
- Lead and mentor a team of up to 8 electricians, apprentices, and helpers
- Plan and lay out daily work activities, labor needs, and material usage
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation drawings
- Coordinate conduit and cable tray installations, large cable pulls, and switch gear setups
- Oversee installation of distribution panels, transformers, fire alarm, and control systems
- Utilize field technology tools such as Plan Grid
, Bluebeam
, and Navisworks - Prepare daily reports, timecards, and performance evaluations
- Ensure quality assurance and control (
QA/QC
) for all installed systems - Apply and enforce National Electric Code (NEC) standards and company safety policies
- Identify potential hazards and ensure corrective measures are implemented promptly
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a foreman or lead electrician in commercial or healthcare environments
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and construction sequencing
- Ability to plan, schedule, and direct daily crew operations independently
- Skilled in reading plans and coordinating with other trades and project leadership
- Familiarity with prefabrication and modular electrical components preferred
- Tech‑savvy and comfortable using digital reporting tools and tablets
Physical Requirements: This is a hands‑on field role that requires standing, climbing, kneeling, and lifting 50+ lbs. Must be capable of working in all outdoor conditions year‑round and utilizing full PPE at all times.
