OPPORTUNITY AT LAYTON CONSTRUCTION

DUTIES- Champions “The Layton Way” by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
- Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
- Frames metal studs and installs drywall.
- Installs architectural finishes according to specifications and plans.
- Maintains a clean and safe job site to ICRA and Company standards.
- Reads blueprints to determine measurements, sizes, locations, types of walls, footings, floors, and finishes.
- Utilizes carpentry math to calculate measurements required to construct facilities.
- Applies knowledge of wood and metal finishes.
- Determines elevations and layout through the use of builder levels, transits, lasers, etc.
- Interacts with facilities and subcontractors in a professional manner.
- Forms and pours footings and walls, shored decks, and edge forms for slabs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferably 2+ years of prior general carpentry experience.
- Performs essential duties efficiently, accurately, and safely.
- Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of construction variables.
- Owns the tools required of the Carpenter position.
- Understands and conveys basic English commands and instructions regarding commercial construction.
- Commits to and meets all scheduled attendance and production deadlines.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Exerts in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Ascends or descends ladders, scaffolding, and steep slopes.
- Maintains body equilibrium to prevent falling from precarious situations.
- Lowers the body to floor level and moves about with agility.
- Extends out and retrieves objects outside immediate range.
- Supports oneself and stays in an upright position.
- Presses against something with substantial steady force.
- Exerts a considerable force to drag, haul or tug objects.
- Raises substantial objects from a lower to a higher position.
- Maneuvers small objects precisely.
- Seizes an object by applying considerable force.
- Detects attributes of objects by tactile means.
- Expresses or exchanges ideas by spoken work.
- Perceives nature of sounds with no less than 40dB loss at 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz, and 2,000 Hz.
- Is subject to substantial repetitive motions of the body or its parts.
- Must have good depth perception, field of vision, near acuity.
- Frequently exposed to weather; occasionally extreme conditions.
