Security Officer - Armed Shelter Patrols in San Antonio, TX

This part‑time role requires an armed guard card or license, at least 3 years of military, law enforcement, or armed security experience, and a valid driver’s license. You will patrol designated shelter locations, deter security‑related incidents, interact professionally with visitors and staff, support emergency response efforts, and assist with access control.

Tue 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Wed 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Thu 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for unusual activity or potential hazards, reporting observations as required by site protocols.
• Interact professionally with all individuals at the location, maintaining a visible presence.
• Assist with access control and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as directed by site policies.
• Support emergency response efforts and communicate clearly with management and local authorities as situations arise.

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Must have at least 3 years of either military, law enforcement, or armed security experience.
• Must pass a Physical Fitness exam (1 mile run 12 minutes, 22 sit ups, 12 push ups).
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
