Alterations Assistant San Antonio, TX

Olivia Grace Bridal Alterations, located near Olmos Park, is seeking a Bridal Seamstress Assistant to support our alterations team in delivering exceptional service to our brides. Our ideal candidate is hardworking, reliable, energetic, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This position is physically demanding and requires an individual who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and take on a variety of tasks that keep our alterations department running smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Clean, steam, and prepare bridal gowns for alterations and customer pickup.
• Steam 15–20 dresses per day on average (sometimes more during peak seasons).
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the alterations workspace, fitting rooms, and storage areas.
• Assist seamstresses with tasks such as gown preparation, pinning help, organizing materials, and general task support.
• Support the team in day-to-day operations as directed by the bridal alterations manager.
• Perform basic shop maintenance duties, including managing tools, supplies, and equipment used by the alterations team.
• Assist in receiving, organizing, and placing dresses within the storage system.
• Ensure all gowns and garments are handled with extreme care and inspected for pristine condition.

Requirements:

• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (steaming, lifting up to 15–20 lbs, standing for extended periods).
• Comfortable with repetitive tasks and fast-paced workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to move throughout the store, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach with arms.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, busy seasons, and occasional overtime.
• Interest in learning sewing and alterations is a plus (training and advancement opportunities available).

• Pay: $15 per hour (depending on experience)
• Monthly Team Performance Bonus: Typically ranges from $100-250 depending on team performance
• Paid Time Off (after applicable waiting period)

• Full-time or Part-time available
• Day shift
• 8-hour shifts Tuesday-Saturday
• Saturdays required
