Overview
Retail Store Management Trainee to join our Team. Pay rate is $16.50 to $26.48 per hour. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. Minimum of 1 year retail management experience required. Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $5.62 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is responsible for day-to-day store operations and promoting a positive/productive environment. This role partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction. This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment.
Additionally, you will analyze store financial statements to help meet financial goals, participate in asset protection, and promote the business to target new customer acquisitions. The role involves working with jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.
This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. The exact pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities- Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
- Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and follow procedures to protect assets.
- Ensure asset protection through inventory control and safety procedures.
- Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store systems, and reporting.
- Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity of loans.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.
- Communicate clearly with employees to align with the store’s mission and profit objectives.
- Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
- Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
- Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
- Willing to assist customers in exterior areas or retrieve products from exterior storage as needed.
