As a Food Service Worker II you will perform a wide range of duties involved with preparing and serving foods and beverages in one or more of a variety of food service operations. You will prepare food, serve food, and may serve as cashier.

• Demonstrate proper cash handling procedures including cash register operations, bank verification, and meal passes and employee discounts.
• Ensure that the cafeteria area is stocked with paper goods and inventory items.
• Maintain attractive product appearance served in sanitary conditions.
• Follow all HACCP guidelines for holding, serving, and storing food and food products.

• Follow standardized recipes and monitor food for appropriate taste and appearance.
• Review menus to determine type and quantities of salads to prepare.
• Follow portion sizes for salads and desserts for cafeteria and patient care areas.
• Practice safe food handling techniques including dating/labeling and temperature guidelines.
• Demonstrate ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and maintain quality service.

• Perform routine diet nourishment functions including tube feeding, formula preparation, supplement assembly, floor stock inventory, and nourishment preparation.
• Provide optimum service to patients and caregivers while respecting dietary restrictions.
• Cross‑train and work in other areas of the department as needed.
• Maintain accuracy in the performance of routine and assigned duties.

• Perform routine patient cart functions, including plugging carts, adding temperature‑sensitive items, preparing shakes, and checking tray temperatures.
• Provide optimum service while respecting dietary restrictions.

• Prepare all grill and fried items in a sanitary and timely manner based on menu.
• Pre‑prepare and stock food items for use in the cafeteria grill area.

• Practice safe food handling techniques and maintain a clean work area.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Some Food Service experience is desirable.
• Food Handlers permit or must obtain during the first two weeks of hire date.
