Summary
The Cook is a key part of the MCSP team and is responsible for exceptional customer service. The Cook will efficiently prepare and cook food in a concession setting meeting quality standards.
Reports toManager
Position Responsibilities- Prepares batches of food that are cooked to order or kept warm until ordered and sold.
- Operates kitchen equipment including but not limited to oven, pizza oven, warmers, coffee/tea brewers, microwave, ice maker, etc.
- Prepares, cuts, cleans food to be cooked.
- Prepares and cooks food according to instructions provided on food order slips or through verbal directions; verifies the quality and quantity of all orders.
- Supports dietary restrictions, allergies, and special needs of guests.
- Restocks product in concessions area and performs food preparation.
- Multitasks by cooking several different orders at once, ensuring that all items are prepared in accordance with customer instructions.
- Maintains overall sanitation, health, cleanliness, and safety standards for food preparation areas, cooking services, and dishes and utensils according to health department standards.
- Provides and maintains excellent customer service while performing all duties.
- Performs all responsibilities of Sports Events Aide as needed.
- Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well‑being of self and others.
- Protects confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization, including but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adheres to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy.
- Approaches interactions and undertakings with a solution‑oriented mindset, being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience in food services serving as a Cook.
- License and Credentials: Reliable transportation;
Food handler’s certificate preferred or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Must have a “can‑do” attitude.
- Ability to serve guests’ needs with a high sense of urgency.
- Basic understanding of or ability to learn food‑handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and communicate effectively with the public.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to prepare and serve food and drinks following Health Department Standards.
- Ability and flexibility to work varied shifts.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, self‑motivated; able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Good critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
