ABSS Solutions is seeking a Sr. Clinical Research Associate for our Federal Client located on the base in San Antonio, TX.
This position is a contract position.
Sr. Clinical Research Associate SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Clinical Research Associate to support government-sponsored biomedical and translational research programs in a regulated research environment.
This role is ideal for a mid-level laboratory professional who operates independently, has experience working with human and animal biological specimens (including blood products), and is comfortable executing complex laboratory assays in support of approved research protocols.
This is not an entry-level technician role. The selected candidate will function as an independent contributor within a multidisciplinary research team.
Duties & Responsibilities- Independent Laboratory Execution
- Perform qualitative and quantitative laboratory testing on human and animal biological specimens, including blood and blood-derived products.
- Execute established experimental methods and assist in method optimization and validation.
- Prepare reagents, standards, controls, and test materials.
- Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and electronic records.
- Contribute to method descriptions, technical summaries, and research documentation.
- Conduct laboratory activities in compliance with OSHA, biosafety, GLP, and sponsor requirements.
- Provide technical input to IRB and IACUC protocol documentation.
- Maintain study files to support audits and regulatory reviews.
- Manage laboratory workflow across multiple concurrent projects.
- Maintain inventory and order laboratory supplies.
- Package and ship research specimens in compliance with applicable regulations (IATA preferred).
- Execute hematology, immuno-hematology, coagulation, clinical chemistry, ELISA, and cell-based assays in accordance with approved protocols.
- Independently operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
- Perform required quality control and document assay performance.
- Bachelor’s degree (Master's Preferred) in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, or related discipline.
- 3–5 years of independent laboratory experience in a research or clinical laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with human and/or animal biological specimens, including blood products.
- Experience performing hematology, clinical chemistry, immunological, and/or cell-based assays.
- Experience operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation.
- Strong documentation and scientific writing skills.
