Job Description

As an Assistant Manager at SYLIS Property Management, you will play a vital role in supporting the overall operations of our multifamily communities. Under the guidance of the Property Manager, your responsibilities will include assisting with property management, leasing, resident relations, maintenance coordination, and administrative tasks. Your role is essential in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day functioning of the property while providing exceptional customer service to residents and potential tenants.

You will also be responsible for helping to implement strategies that maintain high occupancy, increase resident satisfaction, and meet company goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leasing & Marketing:
    • Assist with leasing apartments by conducting property tours and responding to inquiries.
    • Support marketing strategies, including open houses, social media campaigns, and promotional activities.
    • Generate traffic for the property and ensure it remains fully occupied.
    • Manage lease applications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.
    • Promote the property’s amenities and features to close leases with prospects.
  • Resident Relations:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with current residents.
    • Address inquiries, complaints, and maintenance requests professionally and promptly.
    • Ensure a smooth move‑in and move‑out process for residents.
    • Assist in planning resident events to enhance community engagement and satisfaction.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Process rental applications, verify qualifications, and prepare lease agreements.
    • Maintain accurate records of leases, renewals, and resident information.
    • Collect rent and payments, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
    • Assist with resident retention through managing renewals and addressing concerns.
  • Property Maintenance & Operations:
    • Monitor property conditions, reporting maintenance issues to the Property Manager.
    • Coordinate inspections and ensure units meet company standards for cleanliness and condition.
    • Schedule and supervise make‑readies to ensure units are ready for new residents.
    • Follow up with residents to ensure maintenance requests are completed to satisfaction.
  • Team Support:
    • Collaborate with the Property Manager and other team members for effective property operations.
    • Supervise staff in the absence of the Property Manager, ensuring smooth operations.
    • Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
    • Support general office management and administrative tasks.
  • Rent & Fees Collection:
    • Collect rents and other fees, ensuring timely processing and documentation.
    • Follow up on overdue accounts and initiate eviction procedures when necessary.
    • Maintain accurate records for financial tracking and auditing purposes.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
  • Previous experience in multifamily property management, leasing, or customer service is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours.
  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws is a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
