Job Details

The Registered Nurse in Perinatal Services practices independently in a clinical setting, delivering both routine and complex nursing care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to manage evolving patient needs, and the capacity to coordinate care across disciplines.
The nurse demonstrates situational awareness, contributes to long-term care planning, and effectively delegates tasks to support safe and efficient patient care. As experience grows, the nurse continues to strengthen skills in managing complex clinical scenarios and responding to changing patient conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Deliver care aligned with professional nursing standards and evidence-based practice
  • Address increasingly complex emotional, cultural, psychological, and social needs of patients and families
  • Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols while monitoring patient response
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
  • Educate patients and families, assessing learning needs and connecting them with appropriate resources
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, coordinated care
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to support patient care delivery
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a related specialty preferred
  • Prior experience in a perinatal or obstetric setting strongly preferred
Licensure & Certifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment or compact license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
  • One of the following fetal monitoring certifications required:
Intermediate or Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring
Fetal Monitoring Instructor or Trainer certification

Onboarding & Competency Requirements
  • Completion of nursing orientation within the first 30 days of hire
  • Structured preceptorship with trained clinical staff
  • Successful completion of organizational and specialty-specific competency validation
  • Ongoing annual competency verification
