The Registered Nurse assumes accountability and responsibility for quality of care provided to patients and their families according to the Standards of Nursing Practice. The RN demonstrates alignment with the Mission, Vision, Values, and behavioral expectations of Peterson Health. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing and reassessing each patient and planning the care that includes the spiritual, emotional, physiological and psychosocial needs.
The response to these needs is evaluated and documented in the patient’s record. Once developed, the Registered Nurse is responsible to see that the Plan of Care is carried out through performance and/or appropriate delegation to unit personnel.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Preferred EducationBSN
Required SkillsKnowledge and ability to perform the skills necessary for the unit specific competencies.
Preferred SkillsPALS
Required Licensure/Registration/CertificationCurrent Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse, BLS, ACLS (if not currently ACLS certified, must complete within six months of employment, and thereafter renew within two months of the recommended date of renewal).
Preferred Licensure/Registration/CertificationCCRN
Required ExperiencePossess knowledge to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients. One year experience as an RN on a medical/surgical unit.
Preferred ExperiencePrevious experience as an RN in an Intensive Care Unit
