Position SummaryUnder minimal supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric, within the nurse’s competencies following established standards and practices. Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.
Education- Minimum:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing - Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Minimum:
None - Preferred:
Completion of peri‑anesthesia or critical care internship/training course
- Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse or currently eligible for state board certification
- Surgery – CNOR Board eligible/certified
- Post Anesthesia – CPAN Board eligible/certified
- GI Lab – SGNA Board eligible/certified
- BLS – Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
- ACLS – Must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role for all Surgical Services areas.
- PALS – Must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role for Post Anesthesia Care.
- Unit for licensed staff that care for pediatrics includes North Central Baptist, St. Lukes Baptist, Westover Hills Baptist, and Resolute Baptist Hospital.
