Job Shift: Overnight

We are looking for dedicated professionals to join our Skilled Nursing department. Apply now to join Blue Skies of Texas. As an LVN, you will be responsible as a charge nurse in the assigned Health Care Center (HCC), under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. You will assist the supervisor in planning, organizing, developing, and directing day-to-day HCC operations. You will participate in resident needs assessments and in the development and coordination of resident care plans.

You will perform required nursing procedures associated with licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).

• Supervise and provide nursing care in accordance with physician orders, established standards, and administrative policies.
• Perform duties related to pre-admission, admission, and discharge of residents.
• Manage medication regime including accepting physician orders, transcribing orders, and ensuring medications are on hand.
• Ensure medical supplies are accessible; identify needs for additional supplies in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe environment for residents.
• Monitor and supervise Health Support Assistants (HSA) to ensure appropriate resident care.
• Participate in Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement committees and tasks.
• Communicate with family members, physicians, staff, support services, and outside agencies regarding resident care and condition.
• Record observations, treatments, and medications in the resident EMR and inform the Supervisor of adverse changes in condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• Required:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required:
  
  Must be an LVN in the State of Texas and in good standing with the Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Required:
  
  Current CPR and AED certifications, and ongoing CEUs to meet licensure requirements.
• Preferred:
  At least one year of experience in a long-term care setting.
• Preferred:
  Additional education beyond minimum licensure, including supervision and infection control training.
