Qualifications- Active, unencumbered license (LPN/LVN) in the state of practice.
- Compact licenses transferred to your state of residence within 90 days.
- Current CPR certification (hands‑on component). Aveanna can assist with obtaining this after hire if necessary.
- TB skin test current within the last 12 months.
- Six months prior hands‑on nursing experience preferred but not required.
- Reliable transportation.
Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care in accordance with the developed care plan and physician orders for each patient while adhering to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries.
Essential Job Functions- Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
- Continuously observe and assess patient condition, reporting changes to supervisor and/or physician.
- Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, and coordination of care in a timely manner.
- Develop, implement, and update nursing care plans.
- Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes.
- Recognize changes in patient needs, intervene, and implement care to prevent or reduce risk.
- Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Use infection control measures in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Educate patients and families about disease process, self‑care, and prevention.
- Maintain nursing competencies through education and skill evaluation.
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current CPR certification.
- Proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing policies and procedures.
- South Carolina – One (1) year of pediatric experience.
- California – One (1) year of experience under current nursing license.
- Louisiana – One (1) year of experience as a licensed nurse.
- Continuing education as required by state.
- Medical Oncology RN – 2 years experience with cardiac monitoring and oncology.
- Ambulatory RN – 2 years experience with vital assessment, care plan development, and telephone triage.
- Medical Surgical RN – 2 years experience.
- Peri‑Operative Care RN – 2 years of RN experience, preferably with oncology.
- Six (6) months recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical setting.
- Home health experience.
- Attention to detail

- English language proficiency (read/write/speak).
- Travel ability.
- Lift 50 pounds.
- Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
- Sit and climb stairs.
- Visual and hearing acuity.
- Sense of smell and touch adequate.
- Reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
- Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport.
- Ability to function in varied environments with potential allergens.
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
