Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. The RN completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned.

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a variety of acute care settings.
• Assess and monitor patient conditions and develop nursing care plans.
• Implement and evaluate interventions to maintain or improve patient well‑being.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing competency training.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum two years of acute care experience (med/surg, telemetry, or ICU).

• In the first 60 days of hire, must complete AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for adult critical care, telemetry, and interim critical care units.
• Other certifications: AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and NICU/S.T.A.B.L.E. Level 2 Nursery, completed within 60 days of hire as applicable.
